Material-Ratgeber

Hamam, terry or waffle piqué?

Three weaves, three strengths: we explain how the materials differ and which one suits your sauna day, your beach holiday or your home best.

Cotton hamam towels

Flat-woven

Hamam

The traditional weave from the Turkish bath: thin, smooth and often with fringes.

  • very light and folds up small
  • dries quickly
  • gets softer with every wash
  • ideal for the beach, travel and as a second sauna towel

With loops

Terry

The classic: lots of small loops make the fabric thick, fluffy and especially absorbent.

  • very absorbent and cosy and soft
  • pleasantly warm in the relaxation area
  • heavier and takes longer to dry
  • ideal for the lounger and as a bathrobe
