Black Friday for sauna-goers: what’s really worth it
Share
Black Friday is the time when everything is suddenly on sale – and that is exactly why it’s worth taking a moment to pause. As a family, we have been operating the Meri Sauna at Lake Kulkwitz for over 18 years, and we see every day which items sauna-goers really use and which ones end up forgotten in the cupboard after the third visit. Here is our honest guide on what is actually worth buying for the sauna this Black Friday.
What is really worth it this Black Friday
The best Black Friday purchase is something you use every week. For sauna enthusiasts, this primarily means textiles – because they wear out, and a good piece lasts for many years.
1. A sauna towel that is long enough
In the sauna, the rule is: no sweat on the wood. The towel must be long enough for you to lie on it completely – including your feet. Many standard shower towels are too short for this. Look for a length of at least 175 cm, such as an XL sauna towel measuring 175 x 90 cm or the StayOn hamam towel measuring 200 x 70 cm, which won't slip off the lounger thanks to its sewn-in pocket.
2. A lightweight bathrobe for breaks
Between sauna sessions, you head to the relaxation area. For this, a lightweight cotton bathrobe is more practical than a heavy terrycloth robe: it dries faster and fits more easily into your sauna bag.
3. A poncho for when you head outside
Anyone who likes to go out into the fresh air or the outdoor pool will love a bath poncho: it keeps you warm, dries you off, and doubles as a mobile changing room.
4. Hamam towels for everything in between
A hamam towel is the all-rounder: use it as a mat, for wrapping up, or as a hair or beach towel. It weighs only a fraction of a terrycloth towel and dries quickly.
5. Sets as Christmas gifts
Black Friday is perfectly timed for picking up Christmas presents. Ready-made wellness sets consisting of a bathrobe, hamam towel, and care products are the easiest choice – everything matches, and nothing is missing.
How to identify a real deal
- Check the reference price: Since 2022, retailers have been required to list the lowest price from the last 30 days as the reference price for any discount. This shows you how much you are actually saving.
- Check the material and size: A cheap sauna towel that is too short remains a bad purchase. Read the dimensions and material before you buy.
- Check shipping and returns: Especially with gifts, it matters that the delivery arrives before Christmas and that you can return it if necessary.
